Building upon your pioneered testimony.
"And Jesus increased in wisdom and stature, and in favour with God and man."
--Luke 2:52

There are a few things that every participant of trek was asked to do in preparation for the event. These things also follow the youth program theme.
"And Jesus increased in wisdom..."
- Prepare pioneer clothing to wear on trek and other items to bring to trek.
"...and stature..."
- Prepare yourself physically to participate in trek.
"...and in favor with God and man."
- Research an individual that has helped you to "Pioneer your Testimony." This could be a pioneer ancestor, a member of your family, a church leader, or anybody else - living or dead.
Set additional goals
For behold, it is not meet that I should command in all things; for he that is compelled in all things, the same is a slothful and not a wise servant; wherefore he receiveth no reward. --D&C 58:26

Goal setting doesn't end with trek. Continue to take advantage of the youth program and set goals in each of the four areas of Spiritual, Social, Physical and Intellectual. Write your goals down and mark your progress. Here are our trek themed ideas, but pray about what is best for you at this point in your life.

Spiritual Goal Ideas
- Read "The Price We Paid", "Fire of the Covenant", or another pioneer book.
- Prepare a Family Home Evening lesson on patriarchal blessings. If you have not received yours, begin making plans to do so.

Physical Goal Ideas
- Learn about what proper personal hygiene and diet is needed to maintain good health.
- Continue to maintain your physical fitness by walking, running, or biking 30 minutes per day, 5 times per week throughout your life.

Social Goal Ideas
- Prayerfully choose a personal service project and carry it out.
- Invite your grandparents or another senior citizen to share their stories with you. Record what you learned in your journal.

Intellectual Goal Ideas
- Learn and acquire skills in first aid, lifesaving, or survival that would be helpful in life.
- Learn a pioneer or other craft, skill or art. (i.e. Dutch oven cooking, knitting, rope making, horse shoeing, weaving a rug, etc.)
