Sister Bousfield's trek

Sister Bousfield (pictured in the green skirt walking down Independence Rock) attended trek "before there was a place to rent handcarts, before there was a handbook to help plan a trek, and before a movie about the trek experience existed." This was in the summer of 1994.
The Colorado Arvada Stake had a strong desire to trek along the original Mormon-Oregon trail from Fort Casper, Wyoming to Martin's Cove, Wyoming - a distance of about 50 miles. At the time, Martin's Cove was on private property and was not owned by the church. Through faith and persistence, their group received permission to end their trek on the private property. Through their examples, the church was eventually able to purchase the property.
The pictures and video on this page were provided by Sister Bousfield. These are copies of the photos from the MISSION book published in 1995. Photo credit is on one of the images. In addition to the picture of Sister Bousfield in the green skirt, her mom and sister are behind Dr. Art, aka the foot doctor, referenced in the photo essay.

Here is a news clip from 1994. The two youth they interviewed were in Sister Bousfield's ward and were good friends of her.
